It
all started in Raleigh on Saturday, June
16th. Early in the AM we jumped in a truck, a
mini-van, and a 15-passenger van, stuffed with at least a ton
of bells, plus lots of tables, pads, covers and all the rest,
for our latest ringing-on-the-road adventure.
We
had a super scenic route to enjoy for day one: the
beautiful Appalachian Mountains. And there were plenty
of them to see on our way to a concert in historic First
United Methodist Church in Parkersburg, WV. We enjoyed a
warm reception there in a beautiful sanctuary on our first of
nine concerts in nine days in a row.
Next, we
loaded up and moved out, off to Ohio for a concert at Lord of
Life Lutheran Church in Worthington on Sunday. Lots of
folks took their dads out for the Father's Day concert, where

inaugurated
a newly built portable stage in the new sanctuary.
Monday we began the "new state" performances with our
Illinois debut at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in
Aurora. The standing-room-only crowd included the
well-known Agape Ringers from nearby LaGrange, IL.
Please tell Pastor Wayne that Dave really likes his "Wayne's
World" t-shirt from St. Mark's!
The next "first" was in
Kentucky on Tuesday at Immanuel Baptist Church in
Lexington. We had lots of fun there, including posing
for pictures around a cake, just like on the cover of our
"More" CD! After playing for an enthusiastic crowd in
the Bluegrass State, we moved on to the "Hoosier" State -
Indiana.
Wednesday proved that the late-night
drive was well worth it, as we enjoyed a day with minimal

travel.
Some ringers rested, and the others spent the day at Six Flags
on roller coasters and other thrill rides. That night we
were spoiled with fabulous fresh strawberries, before playing
for a great crowd as we gave our first concert in Indiana in
the 920-seat auditorium at Floyd Central High School in Floyds
Knobs.
For the fourth new state this year,
we traveled on Thursday to Tennessee, unpacking our gear in
Murfreesboro at the First Presbyterian Church. We
enjoyed the southern hospitality, and made use of the
church's two side balconies, playing our new Whitechapel cups
and Silver Melody Bells from on high.
Friday's concert
was at Evergreen Presbyterian Church in Memphis.
Note: That made 2 days in a row in the same state - a
first for this tour! The audience
